WELCOME TO THE
HOMEPAGE OF
DAVID L. BUCHANAN

Who knew the 10 plus
years since I graduated a small eastern Ohio high school, that my shining face
would be out for the whole world to see. I grew up on a small farm in the
rolling foot hills of the Allegheny Mtns about 50 west of the beautiful city of
Pittsburgh. After this farmboy’s
graduation I attempted to attend a small private college north of the great
steel city. While I attended all the classes, I learned much more about real
life and how to live it in the Phi Kappa Tau
Fraternity From this mind opening experience, I returned to higher
education in my home state and finally graduated at the extraordinary The Ohio State University. After working in the residential construction
industry, I decided to leave my rural roots and moved to the Akron area. Though I am still a country boy at heart,
the unfortunate economic status of my hometown forced me to look elsewhere to
make a living.
After I had a few jobs within my realm of knowledge, including
one running an auto repair shop, I have come to rest working inventory control
in a 1 million + sqft warehouse of a national retailer (JoAnn Stores).
I am truly blessed to have a great family, close friends, and a
strong faith. I feel sorry for those
who can’t be happy. As the song
says, “If I had a million dollars, I’d be rich” but not necessarily happy.
As the ancient greek philosophers said, the ultimate happy in found in
being good. I have seen a lot of people try to find happiness in bars, booze,
drugs, cars, money, power, etc, etc, etc.
Happiness can only come from inner peace and the fact that one strives
to be good in life. The old saying” be
good at what you do” really applies to living. It looks like our society is trying to find happiness every
where, except the only place it can be found.
Happiness is only brought out by our acts and thoughts.
Here are some quotes to ponder.
