Viva
Las Vegas!
Our final adventure was in Las
Vegas. My flight out was at some godawful early hour on Sunday, while
Jessica and Marc were spending an extra day to see an art display at
the Fellatio, er, I mean, Bellagio. We stayed at the Egyptian-themed
Luxor, at the south end of the Strip. It was the best room of the trip,
and didn't cost an arm and a leg (they don't want you in the room, they
want you in the casino).

of the Luxor, taken with the fisheye lens.

On
a whim, we decided to see the Blue Man Group, who, at that time, were
based at the Luxor. They have since moved up the Strip to a bigger,
newer venue at the Venetian. They put on an AWESOME show. I'm still mad
at my parents for not letting me play drums when we picked instruments
for band in the 4th grade.

Clowns frighten me. Giant clowns scare the bejesus out of me.

The ceiling of the Fellatio, er, Bellagio lobby is Chihuly blown glass.

I think Jessica had had enough of me. She
was starting to look at me kinda funny.
After the Blue Man Group show, we had the best meal of the whole trip
at the Luxor Steakhouse. The steak was a massive Porterhouse and the
baked potato was the size of a horse's head. It was wonderful. It was
Jessica and Marc's treat in appreciation of my vacation planning skills
and tour director work. Afterward, we hit the bar and got pretty
hammered, something that I had never done with my niece before. It was
quite amusing..."So, Uncle Joey, y'ever been in jail?" ("No, but I went
to prison for a day...")
But thats a whole 'nother story.
My flight out was early Sunday morning. I dragged myself out of bed
before
dawn, slightly hung over, and managed to return Tootsie and make my
flight.
Again, I sat on the port side of the aircraft ("left", for all you
nautically-challenged
individuals out there), so all these shots are taken towards the north.
