I was a national park ranger at Shenandoah National Park for two seasons in 1995 and 1996. During those two years, I kept in contact with my friends in various places and kept them informed of my exploits via email. Thus began the "Adventures of Ranger Joe".
I
was the guy wearing the funny
hat in the little booth at the entrance station, taking your $5,
handing you a map and reminding you to feed the rangers, not the bears.
The following tales of weirdness are true. Some names have been changed to protect the blatantly guilty. Any opinions expressed here are my own, and do not reflect the views of the National Park Service.
